WEB DESIGN
Creative Skills Applied: HTML & CSS | Layout composition | Responsive design | Logo Design
About the Project
This project was created for a web design course and centers on building a fully responsive website using HTML and CSS. The goal was to create a digital platform that combines clean structure with meaningful content and storytelling.
Objective
To design a user-friendly, accessible space that enhances the podcast experience and helps audiences engage with the topic on a deeper level through curated content and thoughtful design.
About the Website
The site serves as the official platform for The Good Listener Podcast, which explores Irish history around the period known as The Troubles. Visitors can learn more about the podcast, its creator, and the historical context, watch episodes, explore book and film recommendations, and support the show through Buy Me a Coffee.
Creative Process
1. Logo

The design process began with creating a logo that represents both the podcast and its website. Using a soft, neutral color palette and a thin connecting line, the logo reflects the podcast’s mission to link stories and perspectives with balance and inclusivity.
2. Style Guide

A cohesive style guide was created to ensure visual consistency across the site, outlining fonts, color usage, and imagery. Neutral tones with bold accents were selected to convey the seriousness of the topic while keeping the site approachable and professional.
3. Site Map

The design process began with creating a logo that represents both the podcast and its website. Using a soft, neutral color palette and a thin connecting line, the logo reflects the podcast’s mission to link stories and perspectives with balance and inclusivity.
4. Wireframes

Wireframes were sketched to outline the site’s structure and functionality. The focus was on creating a clear user journey, from exploring historical content to accessing podcast episodes and recommendations.
5. Development & Final Design

The website was built using HTML and CSS, with Flexbox and media queries to ensure a responsive and accessible experience across devices. The clean code structure allows for easy future updates. The final design reflects the podcast’s mission and aesthetic, offering users a clear, user-friendly experience with carefully structured content, consistent visuals, and seamless functionality.
